HAVA-POOS
With the cross of these two breeds – Havanese and Toy Poodle – you have the best of both breeds which includes, but not limited to, a non-shedding, hypoallergenic dog with extreme intelligence. Hava-poos are beautiful little dogs with a wide range of curly or wavy mid-length coat possibilities. The Hava-poo will average 7–15 pounds, and carry a life expectancy like their parents of 14 to 16 years.
Due to being non-shedding, the Hava-poo needs to be combed to remove all dead-hairs to keep their unique coat shiny and healthy. It is suggested that a Hava-poo should be trimmed or clipped down twice a year and shampooed at least once a month, or as necessary. Check inside ears once a week and pluck away any long hairs to avoid infection. Long hairs should be clipped away from eyes as well.
Naturally friendly, playful, and smart, Hava-poos get along very easily with children and other dogs. While some Hava-poos are very outgoing, they also possess a gentle and cuddly attitude, and will prefer to spend its time close to its family. Therefore, they are an appropriate choice for even apartment or condo type living. The Hava-poo appreciates a calm and confident owner to instill their authority and praise, at the proper times. Hava-poos are incredibly sensitive to voices and will respond best to positive tones, praise and encouragement.
